Submitter: Diane Ethridge (deae@consolidated.net)
Date: 06 May 2003

I am somehow connected to the Dr. James H. SCOTT family in Mercer Co 1920 census. Scott's wife is listed as Maymie; 2 children, Jay & Annilee, & an Alice ARBUCKLE as "Mother-in-law". These folks were in attendance at my gr aunt's wedding in 1918, Kansas City, MO. My gr aunt, Ruby VAN EMAN,, was the grand-dtr of Wm ARBUCKLE b 1825, Knox Co, OH. I believe that "Alice" was the widow of one of Wm's brothers - probably Norton or John. Any info on this ARBUCKLE or SCOTT family would be appreciated.

Surnames: GORMAN ELLIOTT JOHNSON BARKER
Submitter: Diana Ross (dianalross@yahoo.com)
Date: 21 Feb 2003

Looking for information on my GORMAN relatives. My grandfather, James Edward GORMAN (1895-1982) lived on a farm in Mercer County, Missouri a little east of South Lineville, Missouri. The farm was in Missouri but right on the border of the state. He had a sister, Myra GORMAN, and several half-siblings, Cleve JOHNSON, Hattie JOHNSON, Margaret JOHNSON, and Florence JOHNSON BARKER. I'm looking for information on James GORMAN'S parents. His father's name was Patrick GORMAN. Patrick was born in Ireland and died in Missouri in approximately 1904. His mother's maiden name was Virginia ELLIOTT. I don't know where she was born but she died in Oregon. Virginia married Mr. JOHNSON and had four children. After Mr. JOHNSON passed away she married Patrick GORMAN and had two more children. Patrick GORMAN came to Missouri with his brother John GORMAN. I believe that John had a son named John and perhaps a grandson named John. I think that the son married a woman named Elizabeth. I would appreciate receiving any information that you have on any of these people. I hope to track down where in Ireland Patrick and John GORMAN were born before going a trip there this summer. Thank you
